Angel Angelescu 2006-09-01 It was few years
ago, when I first tasted the Indian cuisine miracle as a guest of my friend
Kapil. Quite an experience! Everything was surprisingly tasty, delicious,
refined not only spicy as I expected. I use to enjoy Indian food since then,
every time I wanted to remember this first experience. But only Karishma
succeeded in totally recover this experience for me. I found here a special
relaxed atmosphere and a taste parade in every meal. Mihaela and Fouad Khayat 25-05-2005 Finally a world class
Indian restaurant in Bucharest! Everything about KARISHMA is perfect, the
ambience, the service, the decor and last but definitely not least, the food....
An unforgettable experience to be repeated without moderation. Gabriela Lungu 15-10-2005 "Karishma was a great culinary
experience and a wonderful atmosphere! We came there with our friends and we
were all very charmed of what we found !. The lights were discreet and warm, the
music was exactly as laud as we would have want it to be, the service was prompt
and agreeable. Every detail of the place, from the plates to the roof
decoration, speaks to you about India but in a nice, cosy and quite modern way -
nothing is pushy or too obvious. The food - well, as the slogan says, is "an
Indian miracle"! We could really taste Indian traditional food, and not the
usual "adjusted" recipes that they serve you in other restaurants. Dining at an
Indian restaurant should be a sensuous experience. Anit Trehan 2006-09-01 Leave aside for other occasions the
finesse of nouvelle cuisine, or the delicate freshness and piquancy of sushi.
Indian food should leave one sated, and perhaps sweating. Long ago, in a
succession of such restaurants, I learnt the trick of ordering a glass of milk,
rather than water, to soothe a sizzling metabolism. Karishma plays in the milder
leagues, and perhaps this should be welcomed if you are considering inviting to
dinner those of less fiery preferences. The venue is indeed well worth
recommending for an intimate dinner with friends. The music, authentically
Indian, is at just the right volume not to be intrusive, the tables attractively
set and clean, the decor tasteful, restrained from descending into curio
shop-kitsch. The staff, liveried in braided uniforms which perhaps were some
sort of nod to the Raj (and why not in saris, we wondered), were quite
accustomed to speaking English to customers. The food is healthy and authentic,
with well balanced spices and less oil to tingle the taste buds. Bottom Line? It
is a must to try and experience the food and the ambience.
